The Challenge
Trending Objects is an emerging smart home brand bringing Wi-Fi-enabled IoT devices to the consumer market. As a hardware brand with a compelling product line, they needed a complete software ecosystem to match — mobile apps that could control and automate their devices, a web platform for extended management, and a partner panel for managing resellers and device provisioning. The technical challenge was building reliable real-time device connectivity at consumer scale.
What We Did
We designed and built the full Trending Objects software ecosystem from scratch. The Android and iOS apps use Wi-Fi device discovery and MQTT-based real-time messaging to give users instant, responsive control over every connected device in their home. An automation and scheduling engine lets users set device rules and time-based triggers — turning lights off at bedtime, adjusting temperatures at specified hours, or activating devices when patterns are detected. The partner and admin panels handle reseller management, device provisioning, and operational analytics. A scalable IoT backend was architected on AWS to support growing device and user volumes.
